Mana Baoosh is an Iranian artist living in the UK. She started her career in photography in 2014 in Iran.

Early in her career, she worked full-time at a photographic studio as an editor. During this time, she also trained in advanced photography and lighting, computer graphic design, and post-production in various art institutes. She now holds international certificates in photography.

Before studying art, Mana’s academic background was in management; she used this knowledge to establish a commercial photography studio as well as a visual art and design studio to support newly established businesses in the development of their brand identity.

In 2020, she immigrated to Cardiff, United Kingdom, where she studied documentary photography at the University of South Wales. She pursued further studies at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Her project was featured by the BBC, and she later gave a live interview on BBC Radio Bristol.

Her work has been shortlisted for international photography awards and exhibitions, and has been shown at the PhotoVogue Festival in Milan, Italy. She has presented solo exhibitions at Oriel y Bont and West Wall Gallery, alongside several group exhibitions. Her practice also extends to film and interdisciplinary art projects, often developed in collaboration with Welsh National Opera, St Fagans National Museum, and Oasis Cardiff.

Mana’s work focuses on marginalised and underrepresented communities, particularly exploring the lived experiences of people in exile. She is also currently a Trustee at Oasis Cardiff, supporting the same mission of advocating for these groups.
